Browsers today include powerful built-in engines for video, images and documents. When you open a GrabKit tool, your browser downloads the tool itself (a small program), and then does all the work on your own device.

Other converter sites send your file to their servers. GrabKit sends the tool to your file instead.

How can the tools work without uploading my files?

Modern browsers can process video, images and PDFs on their own. GrabKit sends the tool’s code to your browser, and your browser does the work on your device. Your files are never sent to our server.

Do the tools work offline?

Once a tool page has loaded, most tools keep working even if you disconnect. Image to text needs a connection the first time you use a language, to download its recognition model.

Which browsers are supported?

Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox, on desktop and mobile. The video tools need WebCodecs, a feature that very old browsers don’t have.

Can I download videos from YouTube, TikTok or Instagram?

No. GrabKit works with files that are already on your device, such as videos you recorded or photos you took. Please only process files you own or have permission to use.
